โ Important Reminders for Indian Parents
- Pack your bag by Week 35โ36 โ babies can arrive early without warning.
- Keep document copies in a ziplock bag โ originals + 2 photocopies of each ID proof.
- Most government hospitals provide basic sheets, gown & some medicines โ verify with your hospital in advance.
- Private hospitals may have a "delivery kit" you pay for โ confirm what's included to avoid duplicates.
- Apply for Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) if delivering at a govt hospital โ cash incentive available for mothers.
- Register baby's birth within 21 days at the municipal office or through hospital โ mandatory in India.
- Label all your belongings with a marker โ things can get mixed up in busy hospital wards.
