Baby Blanket

Loose blankets in the cot are not recommended for babies under 12 months due to suffocation risk if it covers the face. Instead, use a swaddle wrap for newborns or a sleeping sack for babies who have started rolling. A lightweight blanket is fine for use during awake time, for outings, or under supervision. Once your baby is over 12 months and can move the blanket themselves, it is safe for cot use.

Our glow in the dark blanket uses phosphorescent printing that absorbs light during the day and emits a soft glow at night. It is completely safe — the glow is from non-toxic photoluminescent pigments embedded in the fabric, not from any electrical or chemical source. Children find the glow calming and fun at bedtime. It is suitable for toddlers aged 12 months and above.

Both are excellent. Muslin is a loosely woven cotton that is very breathable and ideal for swaddling newborns in warm weather. Bamboo is softer, more absorbent, and naturally thermoregulating — it keeps babies cool in summer and warm in cooler months. If choosing one, bamboo is the better all-rounder. Muslin is the better choice specifically for newborn swaddling as it has the right amount of stretch and give.

2-3 lightweight blankets are sufficient to start. You'll use them for supervised floor time, outdoor trips, and as an extra layer in cooler weather. Since blankets for under-12-month babies should not be used loose in the cot, they get less wear than you might expect. Having 2-3 means one is always clean and ready while another is in the wash.
