Baby Socks

In summer, socks are optional outdoors but useful in AC rooms. In winter, socks are essential — babies lose significant body heat through their feet. Anti-skid socks become important once babies start pulling themselves up and walking, as they prevent slipping on marble and tile floors common in Indian homes.

Anti-skid socks have rubberised grips on the sole that prevent slipping on smooth surfaces. They are most useful from 6-7 months when babies start crawling and pulling themselves up to stand. For homes with marble or tile floors, they are a safety essential to prevent falls.

Replace baby socks every 2-3 months as babies grow quickly and tight socks can restrict circulation. Check that the elastic at the top is not leaving marks on the ankle — that's a sign the sock is too small. Replace immediately if elastic becomes damaged or socks develop holes.

Cotton socks are ideal for everyday use — breathable, soft, and easy to wash. For winter, a cotton-fleece blend provides extra warmth. Avoid socks with tight elastic, seams inside the toes, or rough textures. Seamless socks are especially good for sensitive newborns.
