Cloth Nappy Sets

A cloth nappy (langot) is a traditional flat cotton cloth tied around the baby's waist — simple, breathable, and great for newborns in warm weather. A reusable diaper (modern cloth diaper) has a structured design with inserts, snap closures, and a waterproof outer layer — similar in shape to disposables but washable.

Newborns need 8-12 nappy changes per day. If you plan to use cloth nappies full-time, have at least 20-24 nappies to allow time for washing and drying. In Indian summers, cloth nappies dry quickly, so 15-18 may suffice with daily washing.

For India's hot and humid climate, cloth nappies are excellent — they're breathable, reduce heat rash, and prevent diaper rash better than disposables in summer. They're also significantly cheaper in the long run and eco-friendly. Many Indian families use a combination of both.

Rinse soiled nappies under running water immediately after use, then store in a dry bucket or wet bag until wash day. Avoid soaking in a bucket of water for extended periods — it can cause a smell and degrade the fabric. Wash within 24-48 hours.
