For most of India, a lightweight muslin or bamboo blanket works year-round. Muslin is breathable enough for summer and warm enough for mild winters. For cooler northern regions in winter, a medium-weight fleece or cotton blanket can be layered over the muslin. Avoid heavy blankets for babies under 12 months as they can cause overheating.
